Student Support Services Team
As we acknowledge the changes facing us at the beginning of the twenty-first century, we come to realize that the needs of our students are not solely centered on what they learn, but how they learn and use this newly acquired knowledge. In order for all students to meet the greater demands of the future, they must be prepared academically, socially and emotionally.
As students grow they encounter challenges, changes and crisis. Sometimes there are "typical" growing up problems of friends, interests and attitudes. Other times, there are more serious concerns dealing with family change, alienation, abuse, drug and alcohol use, thoughts of suicide, school safety and other critical decisions.
In order to help students cope with these issues, the Springville – Griffith Institute Central School District and the Student Support Services Team is committed to offering appropriate support for all students. By providing opportunities to develop healthy decision making skills and receiving critical information concerning their emotional well being, our students will be ready and able to better meet the challenges and changes they will face as adults.
