Middle School Students Advance to State Level

Ms. Melissa Mankowkski, student teacher working with social studies teacher Mr. Joseph Karb, facilitated a National History Day enrichment project with two groups of eighth grade students. They competed in Fredonia on March 6 and both groups received first place in their category.

They now advance to the state competition in Cooperstown. The topic this year is “innovation in history” and students had several different options on how to illustrate this theme.

Caitlin Riley and Olivia Berenson won their first place for video documentary, and Alicia Rinard and Chelsea Slippy for their exhibit. Congratulations to all.
