Springville Middle School

Dear 8th Grade families,

It’s hard to believe that we are almost at the close of another school year. I’m sure you are wondering how it’s possible that it is time for your child to be a part of the Eighth Grade Recognition & Moving-Up Ceremony! The event will take place on Thursday, June 23 at 8:00am in the Middle School Gymnasium. You will be able to sign your child out after the ceremony if you would like to have them leave with you. If you are unable to attend the ceremony, there will be transportation available for your child to ride the bus home at dismissal at 10:10 am.

We are also thrilled to once again be hosting our Eighth Grade Semi-Formal Dance on Friday, June 10 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Middle School cafeteria. This event is sponsored by our Middle School Student Council. The dance is for eighth grade students only. Students may bring an eighth grade guest from another district. If your child would like to do this, they need to stop by the office or see their teacher, and pick up the “out-of-district” permission form. This form needs to be submitted to the main office by June 7, 2022. All eighth grade students are invited; however, students who violate the student code of conduct may lose their privilege to attend. The price of tickets will be $10.00 EACH, with a ticket required for each student’s admission. All tickets will be sold “presale”, beginning on Tuesday, May 31 and continuing through Thursday, June 9, 2022. Tickets will not be sold the evening of the dance. The price of the ticket will include refreshments and snacks served at the dance.

Also included in this communication is information about the 8th grade trip to Niagara Falls on June 21, 2022. The cost is $40 per student. The permission slip and payment, Cash or a check (made out to “SGI Middle School”), should be submitted by June 8, 2022.

We are looking forward to these two memorable events that celebrate your child’s time at the middle school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the MS office at 592-3203.

Sincerely,

Shanda DuClon
Principal
