Dear SGI Families:

As a follow up to our communication over the summer, we would like to remind you that, despite substantial advocacy at both the State and Federal levels, the waiver that provided free breakfast and lunch to all children nationwide through the pandemic expired on June 30, 2022 and, at this point, has not been renewed.

Because of this expiration, we encourage every family, regardless of income, to fill out the free/reduced lunch application form. We anticipate a digital and more easily accessible version of this form will be made available within the next week or two. Families who qualify for SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF are direct certifications and confirmation letters will be sent to those who qualify for free meals. Reduced income qualifications are also eligible for free meals.

Despite this change in our procedures, we would like to assure you that all students will be fed regardless of their economic status. Our cashiers do not know if the students receive a free or reduced lunch and we will not be letting students know if they owe money unless they ask. Families will be contacted privately if meal payments are overdue.

Parents who wish to pre-pay for their students' meals can do so by visiting MySchoolBucks

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Laura Watson, Director of Culinary Services, at (716) 592-3274 or at lwatson@springvillegi.org.  You can also visit our Culinary website at sgiculinary.org.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate this process.
