On June 13, 2017 the Springville-Griffith Institute Varsity Football Program will be holding a free moms clinic at S-GI HS from 6pm to 8pm.
This “moms clinic” will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to learn firsthand from Ken Stoldt, USA Football Master trainer and Section 6 Football Chairman, about what is currently being done in the sport of football to improve the health and safety of the game. Focal points will include classroom time that will discuss sports medicine, concussion education, coaching/league certification, player safety, equipment-fitting, and tackling techniques. The clinic will also include field demonstration of on-field drills. We believe that this clinic will empower our moms with helpful information and will benefit those that have children already involved in the game, but also, those who are still considering their involvement.
The Springville Griffins are dedicated to the mission of building a better, safer game through certified coaching education, health and safety initiatives, equipment and changing the way the sport is played at the high school level.
**The classroom portion of the clinic will be held in room 144 at S-GI High School. Moms should wear comfortable/athletic wear to participate in the on-field component of the clinic on Pop Warner Field.
ALL moms of any football aged student from Little League to Varsity are welcome to attend! We’d like to also extend this invitation to any moms outside of S-GI as well. Health and safety of student-athletes is not exclusive to “purple and gold.” We would greatly appreciate you sharing this post and hope to see you on the 13th.
Sorry dads, this one’s just for the moms!
