HS Orchestra Performs at Kleinhans Music Hall

On Saturday, January 21st, the Springville-GI High School Orchestra performed at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, prior to that evening’s Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) concert.  This performance was part of the “Community Spotlight” program, which provides the opportunity for school music ensembles to perform, and the opportunity to hear the BPO, an internationally-renowned professional orchestra.  The “Community Spotlight” program is sponsored by the BPO and the Erie County Music Educators’ Association (ECMEA).  This has become an annual performance for the GI Orchestra, having participated in this program for many years.  The GI Orchestra performed in the Mary Seaton Room, directly across from the main concert hall.  Following their performance, the orchestra attended that evening’s BPO concert; the BPO performed the music of Mozart as members of the Irish Classical Theatre performed the famous play “Amadeus.”
