JV and Varsity Volleyball Teams Both Win Over East Aurora


Springville varsity girls pulled off a 5 set nail biter against East Aurora last night.  The Griffs are now 3-0.
Excellent setting by both Wittman and Heichberger who ran their team’s offense.  Heichberger’s strong serving brought the team back from behind to win game 4.
Stressinger was solid defensively all match and had 9 kills for the night.  When Wittman wasn’t setting up her teammates, she was slamming balls at the net with 7 kills.  Melanie Barry and Meghan Rehrauer controlled the middle of the net with 9 kills combined.
Rehrauer blocked for 5 points.  Jill Roggie player tremendous defense all night, while Ivette Lewandowski hit 6 kills.
The team hopes to continue their winning streak at home on Tuesday against Pioneer.

SGI JV Volleyball team bettered their record to 2-1 after beating East Aurora in 3 sets.  Alivia Sipes lead the team for their first game victory of 25-8 by serving 15 points in a row, including 8 acres.  The Lady Griffs won the second game 25-9 lead by outstanding defense by Kailea Sullivan, setting by Sydney Fuller, and kills by MacKenzie Owens.  The third game sas a bit closer but beat the Blue Devils 25-19 with key plays from Franscesca Palmisano and Ayranna Lee, and serving by Colleen Keller.  The Lady Griffs host Pioneer on Tuesday September 17.  Hope to see you there!
