On Saturday, the JV girls soccer team faced off on the road against Lake Shore and came away with a 3-2 win. Lake Shore struck first, followed by a goal by Fran Deluca on a direct kick to tie it up at the half. Lake Shore took the lead again early in the second half, but the Lady Griffs answered with an unassisted goal by Jackie Roggie. With only minutes remaining, Springville got another direct kick within shooting range, booted to the far post by Fran Deluca and shot in by Cora Boundy. Logan Lukert played a great game in net, and tough defensive work was put in by Gracie Attebery, Shelby Stisser, Shay Ellis and Lizzy Clark. The midfield unit of Ava Dziak, Hannah Carrow, Emma Gang and Lily Dziak helped control the game in the center, while Morgan Kotlarsz and Autumn Snyder played strong up front. The girls continue on the road Monday when they travel to Holland in a battle of the two purple and gold teams. Great job ladies!
