Potsdam Institute for Applied Research, an independent research firm, is working with the New York State Education Department to survey parents of children who are receiving special education services. Parents in school districts throughout the State are completing this survey. The results for your school district will be reported by the State.

  • Answers are important and will remain strictly confidential.

  • The information provided will assist to improve how school districts help parents of students with disabilities to be involved in their children's special education programs.

  • Some questions will apply to the school district; others to the school the child attends.

  • The survey is voluntary. There are no consequences or loss of benefits for not participating.

  • Questions may be skipped.

Surveys can be completed online at https://www.piar.potsdam.edu/parentsurvey/ResponseRates.htm or a paper copy can be obtained through the Springville-Griffith Institute Special Education Office.

To complete the survey families will need to know their ID NUMBER. Please call 716-592-3256 if you do not know your number.
