Pursuant to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.39 regarding school elections, school districts must now accept ballots sent via U.S. mail until Tuesday, June 16. However, the cutoff for hand-delivered ballots remains 5pm on Tuesday, June 9. The order states: any receptacle used for hand delivery of absentee ballots or in-person delivery of absentee ballots in such election shall be closed and removed at 5pm on June 9, 2020. The ballots shall remain unopened pending delivery of mailed ballots and shall be removed and canvassed after 5pm on June 16, 2020.
Pursuant to Executive Order 202.6 issued by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on May 1, 2020 the School Budget Vote and Board Member Election will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 and all qualified voters shall vote only by absentee ballot.
The school vote will be conducted entirely by absentee ballot, eliminating the need for voters to travel to polling places. Absentee ballots will be mailed to all qualified voters, along with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope. Absentee ballots must be received at the Office of the District Clerk not later than 5:00pm prevailing time on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
