Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District is seeking a parent for the part-time position of TIES Coordinator. TIES (Together Including Every Student) is a program that promotes the participation of children/young adults with developmental disabilities in extracurricular/community activities by providing effective support with trained student volunteers. These can be single events, such as a school dance, an ongoing class, such as music, or ongoing participation in a community organization such as Scouts.
The TIES Coordinator is essential to the success of this program. The TIES Coordinator is a resource for families to explore available opportunities as well as developing individual plans for how to best support each participant in activities. They also market TIES to the schools and community. Other responsibilities include: communicating with activity leaders, recruiting and training peer volunteers and evaluating the experience of all in the program.
