The Varsity Girls Tennis team made it four wins in a row on Thursday night as they defeated West Seneca East 5-0. Getting the first point on the day was Lily Vanuga. Lily was exceptional all over the court and hit some tremendous serves as she won 6-0, 6-1. Winning point number two were the second doubles tandem of Elle Schosek and Layla Gartler. Both girls showed off their skills from the baseline and net to secure the 6-2, 6-1 win. The third point of the match came from second singles player Haylee Cerrone. She won her match 7-5, 6-3. Haylee showed some great toughness and ability to adapt with her solid play. Haylee played some long points and wore her opponent down. Winning the fourth point was the first doubles team of Grace Terhune and Maria Rumfola. They won a third set tiebreak to take home the win. The girls rebounded from a second set loss and dialed in on each point in the final set to get the win. Their set scores were: 6-2, 4-6, and then 10-4 in the tiebreak. Springville won the fifth point due to a forfeit. The girls are now 4-1 overall and host West Seneca East tomorrow as they aim for their fifth win in a row. Great job girls!!!
