Varsity Girls Basketball – East Aurora

The Varsity Girls basketball team dropped their home league game to East Aurora by a score of 58-31.  The girls were overwhelmed from the start by the pressure EA applied along with their excellent perimeter shooting.  Despite the lopsided loss the girls kept competing and battling throughout the evening and won the second half by a score of 21-17.  That right there shows the incredible resiliency and heart this team possesses.  Ivette Lewandowski was a star once again as she poured in a team high 18 points.  Grace Zabawa chipped in 5 points, Ryan Stedman tallied 4 points, and Leah Frank along with Bella Oakley contributed 2 points.  Speaking of Oakley, she was a force underneath and made things extremely difficult for the forwards from East Aurora.  The girls have a very busy week as they travel to Cheektowaga tonight in hopes of making it two league roads win in a row.  Let’s go Lady Griff’s!!!!!
