Varsity Girls Volleyball

The varsity girls volleyball season is off to a great start! After warming up for the season with 2 tournaments and a scrimmage, the girls came out strong and marked a win next to their first match of league play. They beat Lake Shore in a quick 3-0 match Wednesday night. With setter and court captain Meadow Wittman leading the team offense, the Griffs dominated at the net. Middle hitter Abby Stressinger had 3 kills and 5 blocks. Team captain Caroline Roy blocked for 12 points in the match, and had 15 kills. Devin Rowe played a solid game all around as one the team’s leading passers. As an outside hitter, Devon swung for 7 kills. Captain and back row specialist Sydney Rosati had an amazing night! Sydney passed almost every play of the match with only 3 errors. Outstanding play on both offense and defense by Captain Mallory Robel, Mary Digangi, Morgan Crist and Erika Tyler. The girls play again on Monday when they take on the Maryvale Flyers.
