Volleyball Update


JV volleyball bested Ellicottville Thursday night, 2 games to 1, with scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 24-26.  MacKenzie Owens lead the team in serving and hitting, recording 10 aces and 6 kills. Alivia Sipes, Mia Kendall, and Hailey Turner also registered kills against the Eagles.

Springville varsity volleyball suffered their first loss of the season in a 5 set match to Cheektowaga.  24-26, 25-17, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25. The team is now 6-1.
In a very close and entertaining match, Ella Wittman totaled 8 kills, 25 setting assists and 5 aces.  Marinna Heichberger had 12 setting asssists and 3 aces.  Big blocking in the front row by Meghan Rehrauer with 6 block points and 4 kills, and Melanie Barry with 3 block points and 3 kills.  Sarah Ehlers lead point scoring with 4 blocks, 12 kills and 4 aces, along with Rachel Stressinger with 7 kills and 2 kills.
Defensive specialists Jill Roggie and Kailea Sullivan were solid in the back row digging hits and setting up the offense.
Ivette Lewandowski rounded out the offense with 8 kills.
