The varsity girls tennis team continued their winning ways last night by sweeping the Eden Raiders 5-0. The girls started up 1-0 as Eden had to forfeit their 2nd doubles team. In first singles action, Evelyn Berry was on fire with her forehand and overall court play. She overwhelmed her opponent by winning 6-1, 6-1. In second singles action, Natalie Rumfola displayed her court quickness and some aggressive play to win her match 6-1, 6-0. In this singles action, Sharon Thomas continued her winning ways by defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-0. Sharon has really found a great balance on the court and is playing at a high level! The match of the night went to the sister tandem of Taylor and Peyton Wells. They won their match 6-3, 6-7, and 10-5. The girls battled back from dropping the second set and won an amazing 10-point tiebreaker. Their clutch play at the end helped ensure the win.
The team is now 3-1 overall and looks to keep their winning streak going as they host Depew this afternoon. Come out and support this great team!!!
