The girls varsity swim team is 5-0 and won a big meet Friday against Alden, 96-89.  There was tough competition with Springville only taking 1st place finishes in two events.  The 200 Medley Relay of Erin Baker, Kendra Cook, Gabby Cerasani and Mara Swan Campanella took 1st place by less than a second.  Corinne McAndrew took 1st place in her 500 swim with a final time of 5:55, which is her seasonal best time.  Knowing how competitive Alden was going to be, we focused on the depth of our SGI team.  We took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finishes in 5 individual events, which offset the points to help us gain the win.  Another highlight of the night was that there were 17 personal best times amongst the team.  Maggie Parish in her 200 and 500 Free, Ella Ploetz in her 200 Free and 100 Fly, Cora Cudney in her 500 Free, Maeve Annunziata in her 100 backstroke, Helen Emerling in her 100 backstroke and 100 fly, Danika Westbrook in her 100 backstroke, Taylor Casey in her 100 Free, Clara Sprague in her 100 Free, Mara Swan Campanella in her 100 and 50 Free, Kiersten Crone in her 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM, Sophie Lightcap in her 100 breaststroke, and Kendra Cook in her 100 fly.  The team also had 22 make cut times for the Class C Championship and 21 made cut times for ECIC Championships.  Finally, we had our 200 Free Relay consisting of Crone, Casey, Campanella & McAndrew qualify for Sectionals.  Our team is hosting Eden on Thursday for our homecoming meet.  Come out and cheer on this awesome team!
