The girls tennis team dropped a heartbreaker to Lake Shore last night by a score of 3-2. In third singles action Sharon Thomas continued her dominating play winning 6-0, 6-0. Sharon was flying all over the court and made some terrific shots on the night to secure the first point. In second singles action Natalie Rumfola came out victorious after a tough 6-2, 7-5 win. Natalie had to battle back in the second set and she did so beautifully with some perfectly placed shots and forcing her opponent to hit from her backhand side. In first doubles action the duo of Taylor and Peyton Wells lost 2-6, 1-6. It was a tough night against a good opponent but both girls had their moments where they buried winners and hustled along the baseline. In second doubles action Jackie Thompson and Allissa Forquer lost 4-6, 0-6. The girls stormed out to a strong start in the first set but couldn’t quite keep the momentum going. Despite the result both girls found success at the net by being aggressive when the opportunity presented itself. At this point the match was tied 2-2 as first singles player Evelyn Berry played the match of the year. Evelyn battled against a senior but fell just short by a score of 6-7/4-6. The match was a great display of Evelyn’s incredible forehand and overall court ability. Despite the result Evelyn has a lot to be proud of and has solid momentum to build off of.

The girls are now 6-3 overall and play at West Seneca West on Thursday night.
