The girls tennis team took on Hamburg in a non -league contest and lost 5-0. In first singles action Evelyn Berry went up against a senior and played a spirited match but eventually fell 8-1. Evelyn played many long points, and had some great moments, but she just couldn’t get over the hump against an excellent opponent. In second singles action Natalie Rumfola lost 8-3. Natalie, a freshmen, fell to a strong senior that hit the ball deep and with great force. Natalie battled throughout the match, cutting it to a 4-3 deficit, but couldn’t quite get over the hump. In third singles action Sharon Thomas lost 8-1. Sharon fought resiliently but couldn’t overcome the strong play from her opponent. In first doubles actions Taylor Wells and Alysha Evans lost 8-1. It was a tough matchup for the girls but they showed a lot of progress in their own level of play. In second doubles actions Peyton Wells and Jackie Thompson lost 8-1. It was a tough matchup for both girls but they once again showed some solid overall court play and look to be improving every time they take the court.
The girls wrap up the road portion of their schedule today as they travel to Depew.
