The Varsity girls basketball team kicked off their season last night at the Iroquois tournament and defeated Hutch Tech by a score of 43-15. The girls started off slowly to begin the game and then exploded on a 23-2 run to take a 25-2 halftime lead. That run was spurred by the intense defense by the Lady Griffs. Chloe Lester, Meg Rosenswie, and Aurora Gartler were aggressive all night, especially in the first half. The girls finished the job in the second half thanks once again to their half-court defense. The aggressive hustle of the team only allowed two made baskets in the entire game. The Griffs were led in scoring by sophomore sniper Daniella Oakley as she hit multiple three-pointers and finished with 11 points. Kailey Lester and Aurora Gartler each poured in 7 points, Ella Uhteg and Chloe Lester scored 4 points, Meg Rosenswie added 5 points, and Riley Kamara, along with Magdalena Parish each scored 3 points. Every Griff scored tonight!

The girls will take on Iroquois in the final on Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm at Iroquois High school. Great job ladies!
