The varsity girls basketball team opened up the home portion of their schedule last night and won a hard-fought 39-33 game against Gowanda. The girls were locked in defensively from the start and limited Gowanda’s best player to 3 points through three quarters. While it was a team effort, Chloe Lester was a warrior on the evening shutting down Gowanda’s star and making things easier for her teammates. Riley Kamats hit two huge three-pointers in the second half to give the girls some breathing room in order to close out the game successfully. Scorers on the night included: Chloe Lester 11 points, Riley Kamats 8 points, Dani Oakley 6 points, Kailey Lester and Meg Rosenswie each with 5 points, and Sophia Robinson with 2 points. The girls showed much more toughness and aggressiveness compared to last Saturday's game. The girls are now 2-1 overall and will travel to East Aurora in another non-league matchup tomorrow night. Great job, ladies!
