The varsity girls basketball team dropped a very tough league game to Lackawanna by a score of 37-34.  The girls played suffocating defense throughout the first half and only entered halftime down two points as the score was 11-9.  The girls started the quarter slowly and eventually found themselves down by 11 points.  Despite the double-digit deficit, the team climbed back into the game with incredible hustle and discipline.  Unfortunately, the girls needed to play a complete game to bring home the win.  The team was led in scoring by Dani Oakley with 10 points, Chloe Lester with 7 points, Riley Kamats and Meg Rosenswie each had 6 points, and Sophia Robinson finished with 5 points.  The defensive play of Chloe Lester and Riley Kamats helped spur the comeback attempt despite coming up short.  The major statistic that sticks out from the game is the Lady Griff's free throw shooting.  The girls shot 6 for 20 from the line, which ultimately cost them in the end.  The team is right back at it tomorrow night when they host the Depew Wildcats.
