Springville High

The varsity girls basketball team dropped a league game against the Depew Wildcats by a score of 65-21. The first quarter saw an aggressive Lady Griff’s basketball team led by some tenacious defense from Sophia Robinson and Riley Kamats. The girls entered the second quarter only down 12-6. Unfortunately, as the game wore on, the girls couldn’t quite sustain that edge and began surrendering layups to the Wildcats. The second half opened up with some good opportunities on offense but the girls came up short on those opportunities. The potential is there for this group to round into form and hit their stride as we enter the middle of league play. Leading the Griff’s in scoring was Meg Rosenswie with 5 points, Riley Kamats', Aurora Gartler and Dani Oakley each had 4 points, and Ella Uhteg had 2 points. The girls return to action on Wednesday night as they look for redemption against Lackawanna. Keep working hard, ladies!
