The varsity girls basketball team concluded the regular season last night by falling to Iroquois by a score of 78-32. The girls showed some outstanding growth early in the game by beating Iroquois’ vaunted press and taking a quick 5-0 lead. The ladies continued to battle throughout the first half thanks to some outstanding hustle by Meg Rosenswie, Chloe Lester and Sophia Robinson. That trio was all over the court, disrupting Iroquois’ half-court offense and getting steals. Unfortunately, the girls started the second half slowly and gave up some easy buckets early on. Despite the score, the team showed that they can get to the basket and get open shots by working hard off the ball. Scorers for the Griff’s were:

Kailey Lester- 4 points
Ella Uhteg- 3 points
Sophia Robinson- 1 point
The girls finished the regular season at 9-10, winning 6 of their last 8 games, and await to hear their sectional playoff opponent, which will be announced on Saturday.
