The SGI Lady Griff’s have advanced to the Class A2 semifinals, which will be held tomorrow night at Williamsville North High School at 5:30 pm. The girls will take on Newport for the right to move on to the finals at Buff State.
The girls began their playoff quest last Tuesday as they played host to the Alden Bulldogs. The girls were suffocating all night with their incredible team defense, which Kailey Lester and Chloe Lester led. Meg Rosenswie provided a big offensive spark as she dropped 17 points in the 49-19 win.
The girls pulled off a thrilling upset over three-seed City Honors on Thursday night. The girls got down quickly, 6-0, but dominated the remainder of the first half to take a 23-10 lead into the locker room. From there, City Honors made some excellent adjustments and took a 25-23 lead. The girls showed excellent resilience by regaining the lead and not looking back as they held on for the 44-35 victory.
There will be a spectator bus for Tuesday night's big game! Go, Griffs!
