Springville Varsity Baseball was victorious against Holland last night 6-3.  The Griffs were first to get on the board in the second when Drew Reynolds grounded out, scoring two runs.  Brodie Glass opened the game for Springville.  The starting pitcher gave up six hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking none.  Springville collected nine hits in the game.  Hunter Runser and Nick Gold were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Griffins while hitting back-to-back.  Gold provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Springville with three runs batted in.  The 3-hole hitter went 2 for 4 on the day.  Robert Moriarty stole two bases.  Springville ran wild on the base paths, tallying seven stolen bases for the game.  Springville turned one double play when the ball was grounded to Grant Michalski who flipped it to Drew Reynolds on second and then a quick turn to first where Aiden Brown made the stretch to get the out.  The team’s record is 4-2 and faces Pioneer Wednesday at Arcade town park.
