Meghan Janora

SPRINGVILLE (May 11, 2022) — The Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Meghan M. Janora to serve as Principal of Springville-Griffith Institute High School during its regular business meeting on Tuesday evening.

Janora currently serves as the Elementary Principal at Allegany-Limestone Central School District and will begin her tenure at SGI on July 1, 2022. Since January, the school has been led by Dennis Kenney, who was appointed interim principal following the appointment of James Bialasik as SGI’s Superintendent of Schools.

“I am pleased to welcome Meghan to the SGI family,” Bialasik said. “Meghan worked through a rigorous selection process and impressed stakeholders at each stage. She is a talented educator and leader who is excited and passionate about being here at SGI. I’m confident that Meghan will work tirelessly to continue the outstanding work happening in our high school while forging strong relationships with students, staff, families and our great community.”

“I am honored to have been selected as the next principal of SGI High School, and I am excited to join a creative and talented team,” Janora said. “I look forward to meeting all of the SGI students and families, and hope to help make their high school experience a memorable one.”

Prior to her appointment at Allegany Limestone in 2019, Janora served as a Living Environment Educator at Cattaraugus Little Valley High School for 18 years, where she also taught upper-level biology courses and regents-level chemistry.

Janora received an Associate of Science degree in Travel and Tourism from SUNY Morrisville in 1997 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from SUNY Geneseo in 2001. She also holds a Master of Science in Creative Studies from Buffalo State College and School Business Leader and School District Leader certifications from the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester.

“My entire career has been dedicated to guiding and helping kids toward their next chapters after high school,” she added. “It's important to me to help them be the best versions of themselves that they can be and I look forward to helping SGI students do the same.”
