Dear S-GI Families,

I’m writing to make you aware that one of our MS/HS buses was in a minor accident this morning on Pratham Rd.  No other vehicles were involved.  Six students were on the bus at the time of the incident.  Erie County Sheriffs and EMTs responded, checked all students and the driver at the scene, and two students were released to their parents.  The other four students were taken by bus to the middle school, where they were double-checked by the school nurse and then allowed to go to class.

I want to thank the Chaffee-Sardinia Fire Department and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for their prompt response.  Furthermore, thank you to everyone from the Transportation Department, Administrative team, and Clerical staff who assisted with this incident.

At S-GI, safety is always our highest priority, from the moment a student sets foot on the bus to the time they are dropped off at home. Our trained bus drivers deal with a variety of situations depending on their route. We are proud of the way this unfortunate situation was handled.
