Dear SGI Families,
I apologize for sharing this message over the break but I wanted to err on the side of reassuring our families so that you have peace of mind as you gather with those you care about over the next four days. In short, you may have heard from your child that we had concerns circulating at Springville Middle School in the last 24 hours regarding an alleged threat by a student.
I’m writing to let everyone know that after a thorough investigation by both the School District and Erie County Sheriff's Office, these allegations are unfounded. The Sheriff’s Office and District have been in regular contact with the student in question and their family regarding these allegations, and both have been extremely cooperative.
Of course, in today’s day and age, situations like this make us all deeply concerned and I want to once again applaud our students who came forward to share what they were hearing so that we could look into it further. I will be checking my email over the break, so if people have further concerns after reading this, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
I want to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and thank you for your continued support of SGI Schools!
Sincerely,
James Bialasik
Superintendent of Schools
