Spring is a great time to refresh not only our homes, but also our digital lives! As students and families head toward the end of the school year, it’s the perfect opportunity to review online habits and make sure everyone is staying safe and organized.
Here are a few quick tips to get started:
Update Passwords
Make sure passwords are strong and unique. Consider using passphrases (like a sentence) and avoid reusing the same password across multiple accounts.
Clean Up Old Accounts & Apps
Take a few minutes to delete apps or accounts that are no longer used. This reduces clutter and helps protect personal information.
Check Privacy Settings
Review settings on social media, games, and apps. Make sure profiles are set to private when appropriate and limit who can see personal information.
Be Aware of Scams
Remind students to be cautious of unexpected messages, links, or “too good to be true” offers. When in doubt, don’t click!
Have a Family Tech Talk
Spring is a great time to check in as a family. Talk about online behavior, screen time expectations, and how to handle uncomfortable situations online.
A little digital “spring cleaning” can go a long way in keeping everyone safer and more organized. If you have questions or need support, please reach out to the Technology Department—we’re here to help!
