Springville-Griffith Institute CSD is making it easier for families to receive attendance information and communicate with their student's school. This change to attendance will begin on Monday, September 14.
Using ParentSquare for attendance communication will help us notify families more quickly when a student is absent or tardy. This change will also make it easier for parents and guardians to respond, reduce the need for paper attendance notes, and keep attendance communication in one convenient location. Our goal is to strengthen communication between home and school.
When your student is marked absent or tardy, you will receive an automated attendance notification through ParentSquare. The message will be delivered through the ParentSquare app, text message, and email notification. The notification is designed to keep families informed and provide an easy way to communicate with the school regarding your child’s absence.
If you receive an absent/tardy notification, you can respond electronically through ParentSquare with information regarding your child's absence. This provides families with a convenient alternative to sending a handwritten attendance note to school.
When responding, please provide:
Your child's name
Date of the absence
Reason for the absence
Any additional information requested by the school
Submitting information through ParentSquare does not automatically mean that an absence will be considered excused. All attendance documentation remains subject to the District's attendance policy and applicable New York State requirements. If additional documentation is required, the school attendance office will contact you.
If you have not done so already, we encourage all parents and guardians to download the ParentSquare app (Available on the Apple Store and Google Play Store). Please ensure your contact information and notification settings are up to date.
