The New York State Digital Equity Survey for parents is a crucial tool for understanding and promoting educational equity, including digital equity for all students in New York State. The survey collects data on student access to devices and internet access in their places of residence, helping educators better serve their students and families. Parents or guardians are encouraged to complete the survey for each child.

Transportation will be provided to both locations by our Transportation Department to and from school. Please note that students must be four years old to ride a school bus.

Colden Elementary premiered its first annual Original Music Guest Artist Visit, offering a unique experience for student musicians who performed original songs alongside the artists who wrote them. The first guest artist was NYC-based singer-songwriter Rocco Dellaneve AKA Rocco of the Snow, and student performances were centered on his album "Prime Mover." Fourth- and fifth-grade band students, as well as returning middle school students, performed multiple tracks with the band at the direction of Mr. DiGiacomo. Thank you to the Springville Griffith Education Community Foundation for the grant support that made this opportunity possible and helped bring professional-level music education experiences to our students!

Twas the week before break, and all through Mrs. Hartnett's and Mrs. Hall's kindergarten class, the children were stirring! Students had a great time making their own gingerbread Play-Doh and constructing gingerbread houses! And it wouldn't be December without some Bills' spirit! Happy Holidays and Go Bills!

Colden Elementary students enjoyed some holiday cheer before break at the Winter Carnival! Students made holiday arts and crafts and spent time with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Last week, Colden Elementary students were able to visit the annual Holiday Shop to select gifts for their families. Thank you to the Colden PTA volunteers who make this holiday tradition possible!

Mrs. Crosby's and Mrs. Embt's Pre-K class at Colden Elementary is having a great time learning about all the holiday traditions this week! They even decorated their very own Gingerbread Houses to take home!

First graders at Colden Elementary have been embracing the holiday spirit while focusing on our character trait of the month, kindness. Students learned about one another’s traditions and showed kindness by helping “fill” stockings for staff members, a beloved Colden holiday tradition. They also enjoyed making gingerbread houses, sharing decorating ideas, and offering kind comments about each other’s creative designs. We are grateful for our families’ support in making these meaningful holiday experiences possible.

Winter is a wonderful time to have fun in the snow! Mrs. Hatnett's pre-K class at Colden Elementary recently took full advantage of the fluffy drifts around the school!

Recently, Colden 5th graders presented this year's musical, "Raising Colden’s Roof, One Shingle at a Time." The show put the audience in the holiday spirit with its themes of generosity, compassion and teamwork.

STEAM Lessons have returned to Colden Elementary. Recently, Mrs. Anderson's first grade class learned about how spiders can fly using a parachute, so they set out to make their own parachutes for their own plastic spider. They used a fan to try to blow their creations the farthest.

Second-grade students at Colden Elementary recently welcomed two Mystery Readers - Samantha Wasiela and Nicole Hallick, both parents of second-graders. The students loved the stories they shared!

Attention Families: This year TeamSmile has expanded to include students from Springville and Colden elementary schools as well as Springville Middle School! Free dental care and dental education will be provided along with a fun day for students at the Bills' Field House. Families who are interested in signing up can contact their child's school nurse.

Mrs. Crosby's UPK class read about and explored the weather this week!  First, they read the book "Cloudette," by Tom Lichtenheld. It's a story about a tiny cloud that wants to do big things! After a bad storm, Cloudette finds herself in a new place with unfamiliar faces. After some determination, she uses her cloud powers to create rain, helping a sad, muddy pond return to a place with plenty of water for the frogs to enjoy. After that, the students conducted a science experiment using shaving cream, water and food dye to see how clouds fill up and then produce rain! We also talked about what we should wear on a rainy day.

Mrs. Harrtnett's and Mrs. Hall's UPK class found out that when it comes to carving a pumpkin, it's not just about what's on the outside! They also got to explore the insides of the pumpkin!
