The Varsity girls basketball team dropped a tough game on Friday night to East Aurora by a score of 44-25. The girls hung tough throughout the game but found it difficult to come back after a 16-5 first-quarter deficit. After halftime, the girls came out with great energy and started to gain some momentum as the game wore on. In the fourth quarter, the girls cut the lead to 10 points (after being down 19 points), but just couldn’t quite string enough possessions where they scored consistently. Sophia Robinson led the team in scoring with 7 points, Riley Kamats scored 5 points, Kailey Lester and Chloe Lester each scored 4 points, Dani Oakley scored 4 points and Meg Rosenswie scored 2 points. Despite the result, the defensive pressure was fantastic from the young Lady Griffs. Each and every member of the team executed the game plan perfectly and gave everything they had on the evening. The girls are back in action on Wednesday night as they host Orchard Park. Also, the girls will be recognizing a teacher of their choice who has had a great/positive impact on their lives. Come out and support our Lady Griffs!
