The varsity girls basketball team dropped a non-league game to Orchard Park last night by a score of 58-21. The girls hung tough through three quarters but couldn’t overcome the team injuries, OP’s press, and second-chance opportunities from the visitors. Despite the result, the girls have so much to be proud of. First, the girls entered the game with only 6 active players (one of which was called up from JV). Despite being short handed, the girls opened the contest with their pesky man defense and held OP to only 9 points in the quarter. Unfortunately, stamina became a factor, and the girls' shots weren’t consistently falling. Scorers on the night included Dani Oakley (10 points), Chloe Lester (7 points), Sophia Robinson (1 point), Maggie Parish (2 points), and Leah Franklin (1 point).
The girls return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to North Collins for a varsity-only matchup. Keep working, ladies!
