The varsity girls basketball team got back on track last night with a convincing 48-18 victory over North Collins. At the end of the first quarter, the Griffs held a slim 9-6 lead but then broke the game open in the second quarter as they scored a season-high 19 points. The second half was a clinic on defense as the girls held North Collins to 2 points in the entire half. Leading the Griffs in scoring tonight was Dani Oakley, as she dropped a career-high 22 points. Chloe Lester added 10 points, Riley Kamats scored 6 points, Sophia Robinson scored 6 points, Kailey Lester scored 3 points, and Aurora Gartler scored 1 point. The girls used fantastic defense and a solid transition game to get the win. The girls are now 3-3 and open their league play on Friday when they travel to Iroquois. Great job, ladies!!
