The boys tennis team opened their season last night against division foe East Aurora and lost 3-2.
In the first singles action, Bryce Cook lost 1-6. 2-6. It was a competitive match throughout, with 6 of the games going to deuce, but Bryce couldn’t quite string together enough winners. Bryce worked hard throughout the match and will definitely bounce back!
In the second singles action, Garrett Karb lost 3-6, 3-6. Garrett played a solid match and was in every point that was played. Garrett was excellent from the baseline and did a nice job setting up his drop shots.
In the first doubles action, Matt Baumgartner and Garrison Heichberger lost 3-6, 3-6. The tandem had many good moments of solid play throughout the match including some great passing shots down the alleys.
In second doubles action Nolan Bobseine and Avery Noeson won 6-4, 7-6. The boys had some excellent plays on the day including strong net play from Nolan and outstanding groundstrokes from Avery. Big time win!
In third doubles action, Liam Bobseine and Forrest Prouty won a three-set thriller: 5-7, 6-4, and 7-6. The boys battled from a set down and found their game as the match wore on. In the tiebreak, the tandem played clean tennis and found a way to pull out the big win!
In first exhibition action Frank Keeton and Kaiden Bialasik lost 1-6.
In the second exhibition action, Ben Watson and Cullen McAndrew won 6-4.
In other action, Mike Holy and Brodie Neureuther won their debuts as a doubles team!
Toly Wochensky and Oliver Prinino played a competitive set and worked hard throughout their match.
This was a great first match for the group and the boys will look forward to bouncing back tomorrow afternoon when they take on Lake Shore.
