Our middle and high school students embraced the challenge of creating art to encourage safe choices this holiday season. The initiative, led by SADD and Above the Influence, will culminate in the anti-DWI messages being printed on paper bags and used at Cheap Chollies Wine and Liquor starting December 1st in conjunction with National Impaired Driving Prevention Month. The compelling designs were assessed by a judging panel of community leaders, including representatives from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and local businesses. The winning entries earned the student artists a variety of local prizes.
This campaign was initiated by the Springville Regional Coalition in partnership with SGI students, the SGI Art Department and Cheap Chollies. Kiwanis supplied a gift of $500 for award gifts, in addition to various local businesses, including Tim and Bonnie's, Julie's, Lulu Belles, 49 Coffee, Kissing Bridge, and Colden Ski and Board Shop.
