Love the Bus is a month-long celebration held every February that celebrates the importance and role of the yellow school bus in education, with a particular focus on thanking school bus drivers for safely transporting children to and from school every day.

At SMS, Fuel Up to Play 60 is collecting used sneakers as part of a recycling program. Sneakers can be any size, gender, and type. Sneakers are the only item we are collecting. If you have sneakers that you are looking to get rid of, please consider donating them to the Middle School. You can drop them off in the main lobby during the month of January.

We are excited to share that families can now complete the free/reduced meals application using MySchoolApps.   To register with SGI, you’ll need to first enter in the zip code of the district, 14141, at the bottom of the page and select “Springville-Griffith Institute CSD” once the result shows up. Check the “Terms & Conditions” box and you will then be prompted to begin completing the application.  The entire process should take less than 10 minutes to complete and all you’ll need is your child’s name and birth date in order to apply.   We hope that this will afford our families a convenient and secure way to provide this information. To apply, visit myschoolapps.com. Miss Hatch's 7th and 8th grade French classes recently learned about the famous Canadian winter Carnaval in Quebec City. Carnaval has many fun outside winter activities led by the mascot Bonhomme. Students used different candies to create their own version of Bonhomme in class!
