Griffins Roll to 3–0!

The Modified Boys Football Team stayed undefeated with a 39-6 victory over Frontier! The offense lit up the scoreboard, while the defense held strong all night long.

Together, they continue to grow as student-athletes — playing with pride, heart, and teamwork.

Be there next Wednesday at Pop Warner Field as the Griffins build on their momentum and keep climbing together!

The new agriculture class is off to a great start at SMS! Last week, eighth-grade students in Ms. Uhrinek's class welcomed New York State FFA Officers and an officer from California's FFA to participate in a special activity. In small groups, the students were given "seed packets" with instructions on how to ensure each plant would succeed. The instructions included the planting depth and distance, but also had tips like "cucumbers and tomatoes have a toxic relationship," which helped to inform the layout of the garden on their desks. After planning out their garden, they reflected on their own "chaos gardens," considering who is around them who builds them up. From there, the students were asked to write letters of gratitude to someone who supports them. Many wrote heartfelt messages to family members and friends.

A sub for a sub? Students in Mr. Reese's 8th-grade science class constructed submarines from bottles, tape and Alka-Seltzer tablets to attempt a descent and resurfacing. The team with the most successful trip received a sub sandwich!

Griff’s Win Again! The Modified Football Team improved to 2–0 with a dominant 39–14 victory over Maryvale!

The defense came out locked in, pitching a first-half shutout and shutting down the ground game all night. On the other side of the ball, the offense was unstoppable — racking up over 350 yards and consistently moving the chains.

It was a complete team effort from start to finish, and the Griff’s walked away with another big win!

Special shout-out to our bus drivers for being some of the loudest fans in the stands — and for getting us safely through rush-hour traffic to the game!

Come cheer on the Griff’s next Thursday at Frontier High School as they look to keep the momentum rolling!

Our middle school FFA held its first-ever meeting this past Thursday. Students spent time learning about the different opportunities FFA has to offer. They then made their own FFA emblem cookies while learning what each part of the emblem means. We are so excited to be able to offer FFA to our middle schoolers and can’t wait to see what great things they do this year!

Congratulations to the Springville Griffins Modified Football team on a huge season-opening win over the Pioneer Panthers! The Griffins may have been outnumbered and outsized, but they were never outmatched. The defense not only held Pioneer to just 12 points, but they also scored 6 of their own! Add in a powerful offensive attack, and the Griffins lit up the scoreboard with 33 points. It was an incredible team effort that proved hard work, consistency, and playing together can make anything possible. Way to go, Griffins!
