SMS held the annual volleyball tournament, pitting grade levels against each other and the teachers to determine a winner! This year, the teachers thought they could not be stopped until the 8th-grade team, consisting of Layla Batterson, Nikita Eckam, Chloe Wallum, Laila Brightman, Oliver Prinino, Logan Georger, Ross Michalski, Tristan Colern, won it all!

The senior class will be hosting a community Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Ploetz's Maple Syrup, inviting families, students, and community members to come together for a morning of good food and school spirit.

Guests can enjoy a classic pancake breakfast served by members of the senior class and the Griffin while supporting their upcoming senior activities. The event is designed to bring the community together and raise funds for end-of-year celebrations and senior class initiatives.

The breakfast will feature freshly made pancakes and syrup. Attendees are welcome to drop in at any time during the event hours. Community members are encouraged to attend, bring friends and family, and help make the event a success.

To spread the magic of reading, Colden Elementary had a special visitor! Mrs. Claus traveled from the North Pole to distribute books and bookmarks to students during the first week of PARP (Pick a Reading Partner). She was assisted by Colden "elves" Paxton Worthington and Liviana Beuler as they visited each classroom. Mrs. Claus and Santa can't wait to hear all about the stories our students read throughout the year when they visit again in December!

Forty-eight SGI students, along with chaperones, visited Quebec City, Canada, last month! They explored the city and experienced Carnaval - one of the world's largest winter festivals in Quebec. They toured the St. Anne de Beaupré Cathedral and saw Montmorency Falls. They also did some shopping and experienced the local food and culture. Another highlight of the trip was dog sledding, tubing, and touring the Ice Hotel - one of only two in the world. Students were able to practice their French language and learn about the local cultures.
