The varsity girls basketball team dropped a non-league game to 4th-ranked Wilson by a score of 41-28. The girls showed some incredible defensive play, but couldn’t string enough offense to keep up with the Lakewomen.
Early on, the girls were down 15-7, but they turned it around before halftime and were down 16-14 entering the locker room. Unfortunately, too much foul trouble plagued the Lady Griff’s, which hindered their offensive attack.
Next up, the girls host Eden in a big-time showdown in Division 4.

The varsity girls basketball team played Tonawanda on Friday night, in a league contest, and won 51-16. The girls set the tone from the start with some incredible defense. Mrs. Ballantyne’s Kindergarten class had a fabulous time celebrating Thanksgiving with their very own “Balloons Over Broadway” Parade! They created turkey headbands and Native American-inspired noodle necklaces. They wrapped up the celebration with a Charlie Brown–style Thanksgiving feast, complete with all the classic trimmings — popcorn, pretzels, candy, and toast. It was a joyful day filled with creativity, laughter, and fun memories!

Attention 8th Grade Parents and Caregivers who helped their child sell Cookie Dough for the Washington, D.C. Trip: The cookie dough will be delivered to the Middle School on Tuesday, December 9th. Please note that each student will get a box that has their name, the items they bought, and a list of who bought what — all in a very user-friendly way. Their prizes will be delivered then as well. If a student sold over $100 worth, we recommend getting a ride home that day. We kindly ask that you do not arrive before 1:30 PM to help with your child's order. Questions should be directed to 8th Grade Teacher Mr. Beiter at abeiter@springvillegi.org.

Our middle and high school students embraced the challenge of creating art to encourage safe choices this holiday season. The initiative, led by SADD and Above the Influence, will culminate in the anti-DWI messages being printed on paper bags and used at Cheap Chollies Wine and Liquor starting December 1st in conjunction with National Impaired Driving Prevention Month. The compelling designs were assessed by a judging panel of community leaders, including representatives from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and local businesses. The winning entries earned the student artists a variety of local prizes.

STEAM Lessons have returned to Colden Elementary. Recently, Mrs. Anderson's first grade class learned about how spiders can fly using a parachute, so they set out to make their own parachutes for their own plastic spider. They used a fan to try to blow their creations the farthest.
