It is maple syrup season at SES! Mr. Chaddock and the fifth-grade class led students through the syrup-making process, from collecting the sap to boiling in the Sugar Shack to taste testing the final product.

Love the Bus Month is right around the corner! Love the Bus is a month-long celebration held every February that celebrates the importance and role of the yellow school bus in education, with a particular focus on thanking school bus drivers for safely transporting children to and from school every day.

January is National School Board Recognition Month. We are grateful for the SGI school board members who volunteer their time to support students.
SGI parents of elementary students, the district is collecting data to determine families' access to devices and the internet at home through a Digital Equity Survey. Please fill out this short survey in the Parent Portal (the button is located in the menu on the left) by January 15, 2023. If needed, a paper copy can be obtained by contacting the Technology Office at 716-592-3250. Middle and high school students will be filling out the surveys in school. Thank you for your cooperation!

Springville Elementary fifth grader, Briar R. Johnson, donated $290.00 to P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative. In lieu of gifts, she asked her birthday guests to make a monetary donation or bring a gift card to help the P.U.N.T. families of WNY. P.U.N.T. provides local families affected by pediatric cancer with support and opportunities to improve their quality of life.

The fifth grade students in Mrs. Campbell’s class presented their biography projects recently in ELA. We learned about a variety of interesting people including: Babe Ruth, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and more. Pictured below is Elton John, Maria Tallchief, and Jim Henson.

Technology is helping SGI 3rd graders learn their cursive! The students and teachers can scan a QR code on their devices, and each letter is taught on demand to the students. Students then go on to practice the cursive letter and words after the videos.
